Happy new year 2026

May 2026 bring a ritual of taking a pause daily.

in stillness the pace and measure of time disperse .

In a space of inner silence, where we find our own timelessness.

Where the hardened barriers softens.

May we seek Self-care experiences and practises that will enable us to carry serenity Into our homes and out into society.

May civility between all beings grow in consideration and mutual respect.

Enjoy a wonderful celebration entering 2026! Prosperity in Health, Life and all endeavours is yours!

A Year of Self-Care – 2026

Namaste, dearest Yogi’s

The Festive Season and time with family friends is rejuvenation and exhausting, in different ways.

The time of New Year’s resolutions is upon us.

At Yoga House, I feel it in my heart to share and develop a committed, conscious way of living towards skilful Self-care Living.

Selfcare of body, living natural and seasonal and include all the knowledge available to make best (0r better) choices to take care of our physical bodies. Selfcare of mind, to find skills to purify thoughts, to adapt skills to not be disturbed but cultivate serenity of mind. Selfcare of Soul, the unseen energies and yearnings of the heart. To balance the subtle energies to become one pointed focused on your personal calling and chosen path in this lifetime.

Classes at Yoga House, the premises, may be delayed to start in the New Year due to building progressing slowly. To work around this, classes will commence on Tuesday, 13 January and will take place in the park near Yoga House, or, at the beach, all depending on the weather. Only Tuesdays, until building project is completed and we can celebrate the opening of extended Yoga House and resume full weekly class schedule.

Fee Stucture for 2026:

R70 per class for monthly signup’s, payable at start of month.

R120 visitors and Drop In’s

Going forward, there will be a Fee for Events.

Wishing you a Prosperous 2026!

time out in India

travels to India before, was always focused on commitment to learn, practice and experience optimal the science of living, we know as yoga.

a unplanned trip this December was exactly that. Unplanned. A time keeper and a schedule, apart from being on time for my flights, not part of my days. Time keeping , our man made structure to organise self and community!

if I went by time, the thought of “not at my age can I tour India alone” may have arrised. Instead, I fully recognise the cycles of Prakrit. My pace slower, taking longer rests, because travelling is exhausting, but I’m showing up.

travelling tourist style experiences include time at the Ganges. Arti at the Ganges. Small industries at a University in Haridwar. Temples. Bookstores. Jaipur. The pink city. Old city. Markets and palaces. And Rajastani Thali. A wonderful Auyerveda massage and getting ready to return to Cape Town. In my bag, a few trinkets to adore my extended Yoga House.

Social Commentary: Public Debate

There is nothing new under the sun.  So the saying goes.  Indeed, technology contra verse this saying.  Now, we can rather say, there is nothing new, not written or expressed on the walls of the World Wide Web.  This is where all emotions, ideas, ideologies, education, experiences and trends manifests in today.

There has been a womb of vulnerability in our community these past few weeks.

And, with the assassination of Charles Kirk, a broad, world wide vulnerability is permeating.

Discussions whether his message was hurtful and hateful is treating online and among us. Yes, his message will leave a legacy.

What is unveiled in this moment, is that Public Debate, to step out into a public space, with a personal view and conviction, is still not tolerated, just like it wasn’t in the times of Socrates in 399B.C.E whom was executed for corrupting the youth and his controversial debates in public spaces, posing a threat to political powers.

Today, Debate happens online and is broadcasted. Hateful messages.  Behind the facade of the Walls of the Web or the safety of a camera lens.

There still is nothing new under the sun in our real life.  Public Debate with a face, bravely facing the opponent in open space, is a matter of life and death.

Now is not the time to reminiscent on the message of Charlie Kirk and how his message contradict or hurt, even if true.  Now is the time to reminiscent on freedom of speech.  On freedom of public debate, not on TV or online, but in civilised spaces such of Universities, or coffee shops, communities. To take our faces, minds and hearts outside of the walls of our homes to express it where there is tolerance and freedom to do so.

Civility, what happened to civility?  It lacks online in dogma and debate, where the messenger hide behind a screen.  It lacks on the city plains where the messenger gets shot.

There’s opposing views throughout the ages. Freedom to all. To Live, Love, Pray or not pray, to express. Just as I want to be safe to be me, so does the other.

Public Debate is an ideal channel for connecting, discussing and to agree or disagree civilly.

Freedom.

CONSIOUS SELF-LIVING IN LATER YEARS

The writing by Louise Hay popped up in my Facebook feed this morning.

Her words resonate so deeply with me.

My life was SO BLESSED always rich in experience.

May I have time and circumstance to grow and explore my inner world and spiritual talents in later life.

We have different paths up the mountain and then the return to village life to manifest. I’ve surely completed this journey. Shed the roles and seats of life. My yearning is for purity, beauty, stillness to delve deep and celebrate the ‘I am’ that’s me, in this lifetime.
